Tattoo Aftercare
Follow these instructions carefully to ensure your tattoo heals beautifully.
Wear the Film For 48 Hours, then remove it and wash the tattoo gently with an antibacterial soap. Do not cover the tattoo again.
Gently pat dry with paper towel. Do not rub back and forth.
Apply a very thin layer of Tattoo Butter to your new tattoo a few minutes after washing. Pat off extra ointment if you applied too much. Using too much ointment can oversaturate the tattoo and cause excess scabbing, or cause scabs to come off prematurely.
You need to wash your new tattoo 2-3 times daily as above and reapply the ointment as needed.
DO NOT PICK SCABS! This will cause your tattoo to bleed and this will pull ink out of your skin.
You may have redness and swelling around your tattoo for the first 24-48 hours. For the wrists, hands, ankles, and feet, it is normal for swelling to last up to 5-7 days. If the tattoo is over a muscular area or in a bending area, it is common for the surrounding area to be painful as well.
Avoid clothing rubbing against the new tattoo while it's healing.
Avoid body wash, lotions and shampoos that have fragrances on the healing tattoo.
Do not swim or use a hot tub for at least 2 weeks while the tattoo is healing.
Avoid direct sun exposure on the new tattoo. No fake tan while the tattoo is healing.
Everyone's healing time is different so it might take longer than stated.
